One argument against video games that I find particularly resonant is that you are capitally screwed on most video game questions if you don't have primary knowledge, i.e. you've played the game. I think it's easiest for skype practices if you just have the reader use skype and have everyone else buzz and give their answers in a messenging client of your choice. That way people don't even need microphones to do it.
