Re: HFT IX @ Harvard (11/15/14)
With Kellenberg's registration, the field for HFT is now full. A field expansion at this point doesn't seem likely, but I'll start a waitlist for interested teams, in case any teams currently in the field drop out. HFT has also been platinum certified by PACE, meaning that the top 25% of the field w...

The National Monument is the important part. It's one of a series of monuments he's created (Presidents have the power to create National Monuments w/o congressional approval). This happened. Ian Lenhoff won, with a statline of 2/3/3/4 for 130, beating Ben Herman and his statline of 1/0/5/0 for 80. Thanks for playing, everyone - I'll post the packet soon.

I don't think there enough remaining teams to run a New England only tournament, so Harvard Fall and MIT Fall for example will probably only occur if out of region teams (NJ/NY) sign up. Thanks! The Agincourt thing has been changed, don't know why I didn't catch that as I was reading it. I'll try to respond more once finals are over, but for those who are interested, there were an average of a little less than two country tossups per round. I agree that this is a little high.

Yeah, I'm not sure how many of the teams listed as "tentative" are planning to come (Salman would know that better). If we end up with a field size that requires us to readjust our schedule, we'll do that in a manner that guarantees all teams 8-10 rounds.

As for format, there will be 7 preliminary rounds followed by 3 guaranteed playoff rounds, plus an advantaged final. This is subject to potential change. We have 16 packets for potential mirrors. We're definitely willing to reconsider this format, but note that the vast majority of teams would be p...

I did both Ocean Bowl and Science Bowl in high school. I guess negging a lot really just means you have a pretty big ego, because to play aggressively you pretty much have to believe somewhere in your mind that you're smarter than everyone else in the room.
