Re: ACF Fall 2011 Mirror @ McMaster, Nov. 5

As for the actual tournament, I'm probably (85-90%) solo-ing this as part of U of Alberta. What kind of solo discounts are available? (I satisfy all the clauses under the -$80 discount on the ACF website, but is that discount going to be offered?)

When you say this, you are explicitly referring to hosting tournaments right? how would this work in an area without a developed trivia circuit? From what I gather, Oklahoma has an active high school circuit, so there should be a decent number of teams that would attend a tournament they host. I ac...

If you can get rooms on campus and plug in a question set from elsewhere, I would suggest doing this often, and you can fund most or all of your team that way without needing to ask members to pony up for tournament fees. When you say this, you are explicitly referring to hosting tournaments right?...

The gist I got from that thread is that, although there's no good answer, 20% MAX on World history was absolutely the *wrong* answer which, when getting ready to write our school's packet for ACF fall, I am starting to feel very strongly about. Well, some high school seniors had barely started elementary school in 1998; I'd say that the power mark should probably have been before Moss, but definitely should be after Cunningham.
