Brief results: 1. Bloomington A 2. OPRF 3. Wheaton North A 4. Carbondale I believe (as in, I'm 99% sure Mr. Reinstein contacted Dr. Chuck about it) that these four teams now qualify for PACE. All-Tournament: Greg (Wheaton North A) Justin (Carbondale) Erin (Maine East A) Greg (Maine South A) Brooks (...

Okay even though I told myself I was not going to get into another discussion on here... What if when you are writing questions you use a breakdown of question types.. such as 4 science, history, lit, 3 fine arts, etc. Then make sure that all of the coaches knew ahead of time what the breakdown of ...

I'll take credit (blame, more like) for the bad Back to the Future bonus. IIRC, I had just finished watching one of the movies (and it's quite possibly my favorite trilogy of all time) so I felt keen to write a question. A better choice would have been to write a bonus about the characters, because ...

AND, current events is a realy category......unlike certain others: to paraphrase my colleague Mr. Laird, when you correctly answer a pop culture quesiton, a puppy dies.... I resent that. Greg's right about the luck aspect. Last year I lost my first match (to a teammate, nonetheless), and somehow won the next 6. And then, like everyone else, got obliterated by Robert Sale in the final. I don't pretend to have any idea as to how I'll Saturday. I'm too busy being worried about Pertussis.

Chris, since you've seen both, I'm curious as to your answer to this: In recent years, the trend has been (stereotypically; there have been exceptions) that east coast teams do better at HSNCT. How would you compare the level of play you saw today as to that normally found on the east coast on IS pa...

I can't believe that Herr Taylor's comment is the only one thus far about the U of I Eary Bird, the first tournament of the season. Here are the questions that were used at last year's New Trier team tournament (which, as Mr. Reinstein said, is 5 players per team) so you can judge the math (I'm about as non-math guy as you can get, so I never know how difficult the math is).

New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois (it's only about 10 minutes from Northwestern, to give you an idea) is hosting tournaments on November 11 and December 16th. November 11th is a singles tournament and December 16th is a traditional team tournament. As Co-TD of the tournament in December, I...

In a different instance, I find it odd when players who start on the varsity team as a frosh or soph also play on the frosh-soph team on weekends the varsity team is not competing. Why? I think there is a difference between Varsity A and B teams and the Varsity and F/S teams. I could see it being s...

I'm simply taking these from other posts). Teams that are typically good but are ...

I'm curious: when Alabama teams (and I mean active ones, such as Lee's BMHS squad) play out of state (excluding nationals), where do they go, mostly? More specifically how far do they travel? Is it mostly Tennessee tournaments, or do some travel to Kentucky, or even Wash U's tournament in St. Louis?...

3-4 West Coast Offense Belarus Ukraine In our room, the other team negged with West Coast Offense. At the end it became obvious that it was 3-4 (something about replacing a nose tacle with a linebacker), which is when we got it. Also, I sort of did the Belarus/Ukraine mistake. The other team negged...
