I'll take credit (blame, more like) for the bad Back to the Future bonus. IIRC, I had just finished watching one of the movies (and it's quite possibly my favorite trilogy of all time) so I felt keen to write a question. Greg's right about the luck aspect. Last year I lost my first match (to a teammate, nonetheless), and somehow won the next 6. And then, like everyone else, got obliterated by Robert Sale in the final. I don't pretend to have any idea as to how I'll Saturday. I'm too busy being worried about Pertussis.
