From NAQT's website, it seems that a dozen or so tournaments every year use sets from previous years at locations that havn't yet heard them. I suppose this option wouldn't be available if all questions prior to the current year were available online. Just another thing to think about.

With 24 teams- the tournament format will be 4 prelim pools of 6 (5 games) followed by 3 playoff pools of 8 where a team plays all the teams in their pool they have not yet played (6 games)? If so, and you only have 11 packets, what will happen if there is a tie for first after these 11 games?

Its looking like this is going to be a quadruple round-robin between USC A, USC B, Southside, and a House team (which will be Clemson's regular line-up). Meet in Daniel Hall Auditorium between 8:30 and 8:45. Games start at 9.

Yeah, if the game format was more akin to quizbowl as we know it, and we got to play all the games one-on-one instead of how they do it, this tournament would have been virtually perfect in my opinion.

At Regionals last year, after asking the head editor, some friends and I were allowed to play on a mixed team as long as we agreed not to be in contention for the championship bracket/match. Maybe take it up with the Winter editors.
