Re: Important Information - Chicago Open 2008
PATH statistics for this tournament can be found here: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p2p4IJRzhtXEuTlc2X2Y-JA. There was something strange about the Illinois team's stats, and I didn't put the dartmouth-led contingent's stats in there. I may correct these later. EDIT: I just re-published it...

Re: Important Information - Chicago Open 2008
Maybe this a crazy idea, but couldn't you just ramp up the difficulty gradually during the day? In other words, have the "easier" packets in the morning rounds and the harder packets in the afternoon and early evening rounds. In the final RR match, on presumably the hardest RR packet, ther...

Re: 2007-08 NAQT IS sets: Discuss Specific Questions
All that said, here's the thing...IS sets are pretty good high school quizbowl. They undoubtedly have frustrating systematic flaws that could be improved. They might be a little too easy to effectively distinguish between the top teams, but NAQT wrote a really good, appropriate-difficulty HSNCT for...

Basically, this is a save the date for the 4th annual Florida State University fall tournament for high schools. It will be held on November 1st, most likely at Maclay School. I will be posting a full announcement soon. The questions will be mostly the same as Valencia's Delta Burke tournament, whic...

It's obvious others disagree with me, but I'd actually be in favor of something like 2 pools of 8 instead of a massive round round. Sure there'd be double byes, but that just means extra staff.
