Strange, I swear I saw Auburn's name on that list. Odd.
Anyways, good luck to everyone who is going to Masonic Regionals tomorrow.

Why, thank you Coach Esgar. In non-state series news, did anyone watch the Teen Tournament this week? Kenny Schlax of Deerfield was on (Thursday, I think), and did quite well. He was actually leading going into the final round. It's nice to see Illinois represented so well. I wonder if anyone will t...

That's one of the toughest fields I've seen all year. DCC and any one other team would make a pretty impressive field. Seriously: The Ultima and Fenwick bloodbath are two of the most granite looking fields in our state this year....though this one is pretty darn good. I guess I discount Ultima from...

1. Playing players who are nominally varsity players at the frosh-soph level. A number of coaches claim this to be questionably ethical doing. For the record: I read for the entire playoffs at Wheaton North. Had anyone of New Trier's kids ever seen Casablanca, Wheaton North would not have seen the ...

Dunbar cannot be stopped. Except by Dunbar. Unfortunately, the playoff scoresheets got thrown away, so the scores are from memory. If anyone can send me their playoff scores at pinyan at gmail dot com, I can incorporate them in the website when it goes up in a few days. Your score for the Madisonvi...

Maybe it doesn't affect me as much, since last year we hosted our regional and the drive to the Sectional wasn't too bad, but so far it seems as if the sub-sectional has made things worse. I mean, technically we'd have to play the top teams in the sectional at some point to make it state, of course,...

Results from Wheaton North: 1. Fenwick A 2. Wheaton North A 3. New Trier 4. Maine South A The questions got a lot harder after the quarterfinals. In attempt to jumpstart a little conversation... What is the speculation for Team Illinois? I'll throw a couple names out there that will try out/make it: Kerr, Powers, Fischer, Beata... So, at essentially the halfway point of the season, what does everyone think the top 5 or 10 are? We played a very close match against a very good Deerfield team today. Going into the last tossup we were down 345-338, and then got the tossup and swept the bonus. Deerfield is a very good team, with a class act too. It's more fun to play against teams like that. The moral of the story: Deerfield i...

Results from Richards Varsity: (A Teams) 1 - Fremd 2 - Loyola 3 - Fenwick 4 - New Trier Fun tournament. The all tossup round was very fun. I liked it a lot. In the semifinals, were beating Fremd 201-179 with one tossup left. And they swept it entirely. The odd thing was, I hadn't been looking at th...
