I'm going to project an end time of 7 PM. If we stay with a number of teams similar to what we have now, we'll do two brackets followed by 2-3 crossover games and then a final as needed.

I think it would be good for quizbowl to have a regular or "regular minus" tournament as early as possible. PADAWAN in early October would mostly fit the bill, but I think we should start the season in September. The vast majority of colleges are in session by the second week of September ...

I was able to run the game between the two 4-person teams at the CHB online mirror without problems -- the call limit is apparently 25 now.

The tournament will be held at VCU on August 2, with mirrors on that date based on people e-mailing me asking about them. It will contain 15 centrally written packets. There will be side events on August 3. More later.

I haven't heard much response to my attempts to get someone to write science for this. What do people think about a tournament with very little science in each packet? The alternative is probably not doing a full-scale tournament at all.
