The USA is playing Italy on Saturday the 17th at 3:00 PM in the FIFA World Cup. I think many, many people will want to watch this game. Maybe some event can be scheduled around the second half as the first half will probably conflict with some of our games.

I think the top few players on the east coast could put up similar PPG numbers. Chris Ray would probably be able to do this playing solo over the course of 8 rounds on 22-24 questions a round (just like this Basileus player) against people who didn't buzz at all on introductory level NAQT packets. ...

I don't understand why you want high school teams to be composed of players all from the same school, yet you want colleges to only have quiz bowl clubs that don't necessarily play with eachother at tournaments.

I don't know if any of you have heard but Giant is cutting their funding of "It's Academic" to $10,000 total per year from $40,000 per year. Now the payment of teams is much more top heavy: only the teams that make the finals get any money ($2,500 to 2nd and 3rd and $5,000 to the champion)...
