CaVIAR Tournament (4/26/14) San Diego, CA [IMSANITY 4]

Torrey Pines and Canyon Crest Academy Quizbowl are pleased to announce CaVIAR, a regular-difficulty high school tournament.

DATE/TIME: CaVIAR will take place on April 26, 2014. Check-in begins at 8:00 A.M., and rounds start at 9:00 A.M. We hope to end the tournament by around 5 - 6 P.M. including finals rounds if necessary.

LOCATION: CaVIAR will take place on the campus of Canyon Crest Academy, located at 5951 Village Center Loop Rd, San Diego, CA 92130. Map of CCA can be found here (3 huge parking lots). The main room will be at E101 and rounds will take place on the ground floors of the E and D buildings.

We will send you an email to confirm your registration after the form is filled out.
You will need to provide the following:
1) School name
2) Number of teams
3) Number of buzzers
4) Number of moderators
5) Contact Email
6) Emergency contact phone number

PRICING:
$80 for first team
$70 for subsequent teams

DISCOUNTS: (subtracted from school cost)
-$5 for each working buzzer system
-$10 for each competent moderator
-$30 for schools that have not competed in a mACF / NAQT style tournament in the last 2 years
-$5 for every 50 mi travelled, calculated using Google Maps from your school to Canyon Crest Academy

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Each round will be untimed rounds of 20 questions (with necessary tiebreakers). Field cap at 24 teams but will expand if necessary. We will be using the IMSANITY 4 packet.

FOOD: Unfortunately, there are no eating locations within walking distance of CCA. However, there’s a mall with Rubio’s, Which Wich, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, etc. 5 minutes drive from CCA. There will also be pizza order forms.
