Georgetown Fall Invitational: 10/12/19 (IS-186)

We are pleased to announce that Georgetown will be hosting its Fall Invitational on Saturday, October 12, 2019 using NAQT’s IS-186 question set. The top 15% of the field will qualify for NAQT’s High School National Championship Tournament. Also, the top 10% of the field will qualify for PACE's National Scholastics Championship.

Location: The tournament will be hosted on Georgetown campus in the Edward B. Bunn Intercultural Center (commonly known as the ICC). Registration will begin at 8:00 am outside room ICC 115, and we expect round 1 to start at 9:00 am. Parking is available for free on weekends in the Southwest Garage. A map of campus is available at maps.georgetown.edu.

Fees
Base fee: $70 per team
Working buzzer system discount: -$5
Experienced staffer discount: -$10
Travel discount: -$10 (over 150 miles each way)
Minimum fee: $45

Please pay either in advance or on the day of the tournament. We will be accepting cash and check (if you choose check, please make it out to “Georgetown University Quiz Bowl”).
We have a soft cap of 28 teams but may adjust given staffer availability.

Thanks to everyone who came to the tournament! The following teams placed first through third:
1. Richard Montgomery A
2. BASIS McLean A
3. Centennial A
Those teams qualify for PACE's National Scholastics Championship. Along with the team placing fourth, Montgomery Blair, those teams also qualify for NAQT's High School National Championship Tournament.

EDIT: This tournament is now a Gold Qualifier, so Montgomery Blair and St. Anselm's also qualified for the National Scholastics Championship.
