Ok, after some terrible communication and a rescheduling, Central Mass Fall Tournament is BACK ON for Saturday, November 23, hosted by AMSA in Marlborough, MA.

AMSA is conveniently located near all the major highways – 495, 290, MassPike, etc. 40 minutes west of Boston, 25 minutes east of Worcester. We have lots of free and easy parking. There's even a new hotel across the street from us if any team is looking for a road trip!

Register here: https://www.naqt.com/registration/field ... t_id=10715

Please arrive for Registration between 8:15 and 8:45 am with play starting at 9:00.

We will be using NAQT Introductory-level set, IS-189A. We will be using comp math toss-ups and bonuses. It is our intention to have separate divisions for novice and advanced teams if registration numbers allow. Teams should self-select the most appropriate level, based on experience, to help make sure that teams have competitive matches. We want newer players to have as much fun as experienced players!

Field is capped at 24 teams (hoping for 12 in each division) for now. Teams may have 1-6 players on it (4 at a time, 2 subs). Schools cannot swap members between teams during the tournament. Late arrival players must be on the roster at registration and presumed to “sit-out” until arrival.

All teams are guaranteed 10 rounds of play; plan is for 5 rounds before lunch, reseeded rounds after lunch; advantaged final if necessary. We might need to tweak this based on number of teams in field.

The tournament is PACE certified as gold; the top 20% of teams (rounded up to the nearest integer) will qualify for the national high school quizbowl championship, the PACE NSC on the weekend of June 6-7 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare outside of Chicago.

Fees:
Team 1: $80
Additional Teams: $70 each
Buzzer discount: $5 per working buzzer system
Staffer discount: $5 per experienced staffer
New Team special: if this is the first pyramid tournament for your school, $20 off a single registration. Multiple teams are definitely welcome from new schools but only one discount.

Payment in cash or check (payable to AMSA Charter School) is expected at registration when an invoice will be provided. Please let us know if you prefer to pay early or need an early invoice.

Lunch
There are tons of restaurants and fast food places within a 10 minute drive, but few that are a quick walking distance. We will have a Team Pizza deal - $15 gets your team a large cheese pizza and 4 bottles of water. You can pay on the morning of the tournament. You’re also free to make your own arrangements of course.
