ANGST (April North Georgia Scholastic Tournament) @ UNG

Post by [email protected] »

The University of North Georgia (Dahlonega) Academic Team is proud to announce the first April North Georgia Scholastic Tournament (ANGST), to be held Saturday, April 18, 2020, on the beautiful Dahlonega campus of the University of North Georgia.

We are using IS-188. Please be aware that this packet is being used in other tournaments in our area. It is your responsibility to know whether your team will have already heard these questions before. Failure to do so will result in a DQ for your team.

The format will be either a regular RR or a random prelim/matched playoff system. We hope to be able to offer 10 rounds to everyone, but no guarantees. Rounds will consist of 20 Toss Ups with 30-point bounce-back bonuses. Please limit teams to five players.

The entry fee will be $75 for each team with no limit on teams from a particular school. Checks can be made out to the UNG Academic Team and can be delivered the day of the tournament.

There will be a $5 discount for each school that provides a worker, limit two such discounts per school. There will also be a $5 discount for each school that provides a buzzer system, limit to one such discount per team registered. A discount will be considered for distance traveled, just ask.

To eliminate any previous problems with scorekeeping, all score will be kept on paper and transferred to a computer for analysis.

Please register for this event using NAQT's registration system, link here:

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Chris Shull at [email protected] or 678.249.7250 (text or call). Or contact Dr. Stephen Smith at [email protected].

Until further notification, the field is being capped at 18. This is to prevent undue headaches on the part of the Tournament Director.
