Wolverine Fall Invitational (11-28-2020)

Post by Bob the Builder »

The Wakeland High School Quizbowl team is pleased to announce the Wolverine Fall Invitational on Saturday, November 28th, 2020. I, Arnav Kaul, will serve as the Tournament Director of this event. This will be played on a dedicated Discord server; more info will be sent out later.

Date and Time
The tournament will take place on Saturday, November 28th, 2020 from 9 AM - 5 PM CDT.

Questions and Format
We will be running the tournament on RAFT II, a high school regular difficulty question set. This event will be run on both tossups and bonuses.

Teams
We will have a tentative team cap of 24 teams and a max of three teams from each school. This tournament will be closed to High Schools from the South and Southeast, meaning only teams from the following states can participate: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Since this is a closed event, only players from the same school can play on a team. Teams can have up to six players on their roster.

Registration and Fees
If you are interested in playing, please fill out this Google Sheet or email [email protected] with your team name, roster(this does not have to be final), an email contact, and any other notes. The price for the first team from a school will be $70 and each team after will cost $65.

Payment Methods
Payment is prefered to be done via Venmo or Paypal. If you would like to pay through a different method, please contact us or add it to the Notes section of your registration.
Venmo: @Geetan-Madala
Paypal: [email protected]

Staffers
Most will be from Wakeland but if there is a shortage in staffers, we will pay $25 for outside staffers if needed. If you are available to staff or would like to be notified when there is a staff opening, fill out the Staff Registration tab in the above Google Sheet.

Cheating and Misconduct
All players, spectators, and coaches must adhere to the PACE Code of Conduct. All instances of cheating and/or misconduct will be dealt seriously by the tournament staff. Additionally, we reserve the right to report anyone to local and national quizbowl organizations.
