Cave Spring Invitational (CSI) XV (11/21/20)

Post by kamikaze »

I am happy to announce our 15th annual Cave Spring Invitational (CSI) will take place at our new high school (although you'll only get to see it virtually) in scenic southwest Virginia. We've scheduled our tournament for November 21, 2020.

AFFILIATION: The top 15% of the field will qualify for NAQT's HSNCT at the end of the season. We are also a GOLD qualifier for PACE which means the top 20% of the field will qualify for the NSC.

QUESTIONS: We have reserved IS-194A for this tournament.

FORMAT: Right now, we are offering eight (8) rounds of competition. However, if we seem to be doing well and there are no major issues during prelims, we will try to expand to ten (10) rounds. Our field cap is 18 teams but we reserve the right to expand the field should we find enough moderators. Currently, we are planning on hosting this virtually so teams in mid-Atlantic region are more than welcome to attend. With this being an online affair, we will be providing registered teams with rules to abide by for this event.

REGISTRATION AND FEES:
-The fee structure is as follows:
Base fee: $60 per team. There is no limit to the number of teams who can attend from one school.
$10 per qualified staffer. We are asking that all staffers do a tech check with tournament officials and attend a training session before the tournament date. Details about both will be passed along to those we need to help with the tournament.

TEAM & ROSTER SIZE: There may be a maximum of six players on one team's roster, up to four of whom may play at one time. There will be no exceptions to this rule. If you bring more than six players, you must register a second team to have all of them play. There is a halftime substitution opportunity in each game. Each player may appear on only one team's roster throughout the day-no switching from the B team to the A team, etc. Teams may also play shorthanded with only three players.

If you have any questions or wish to register, feel free to contact Bob Powers at [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you all here.
