Auburn High School is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our 22nd Annual Knights’ Challenge Tournament online this year!

The tournament will be held over two Saturdays. The preliminary rounds will take place on the morning of Saturday, January 9. The playoffs will take place on the morning of Saturday, January 16. Middle school and Frosh-Soph high school teams may register to attend. Both divisions will be using NAQT IS-200A questions, will follow the IHSSBCA online tournament guidelines and have powers, no negs, no bonuses or bouncebacks. Each round will consist of 24 tossup questions.

We will use Discord so all participants and coaches need to have an account prior to the day of the preliminaries. The number of teams will be dependent how many moderators we can secure for the tournament, so currently we are going to cap the total number of teams at 48.

The registration cost is $55 for the first team and $50 for each subsequent team. You can register using this form . The registration deadline is Friday Dec. 18. An invoice will be provided and should be sent along with the check to the address below:

Are there any geographic restrictions for this tournament?

There is no geographic restriction.

There is a maximum of 8 players per team.

Auburn High School is pleased to announce that we will be hosting our 22nd Annual Knights’ Challenge Tournament online this year and we need your help! We are looking for moderators as well as some scorekeepers to make this happen.

The tournament will be held over two Saturdays. The preliminary rounds will take place on the morning of Saturday, January 9. The playoffs will take place on the morning of Saturday, January 16. We are looking for help on one or both days.

The tournament will have a Frosh-Soph and a middle school division. Both divisions will be using NAQT IS-200A questions, will follow the IHSSBCA online tournament guidelines and have powers, no negs and no bouncebacks.

We will use Discord so all participants need an account as well as the hardware necessary to moderate the event. This includes a computer, internet access, microphone and headphones. We will also be holding setup/practice sessions to make sure everyone has functioning equipment and learns the nuances of moderating an online tournament.

We are offering a $10 discount on the entry fee for each moderator affiliated with a participating team. We are not offering any payment, but we would be glad to provide service hours for varsity students helping out.

Based on formats used with previous online tournaments of this level and time constraints, we will not be using bonuses for this tournament. However, we will use 24 tossups rather than 20.

We are currently at 36 teams for the Frosh/Soph division and will no longer be taking registrations.

We are currently at 16 teams for the middle school division and plan on capping this at 18.

There will be a waiting list in case we can procure enough moderators for both divisions or have cancellations.
