Call of SATURNALIA for writers and editors

Post by Carlos Be »

This is a preliminary announcement for SATURNALIA, which will be ready for mirrors by Fall 2020. I will be head editor. We are targeting a "hard high school / easy college" difficulty, around ACF Fall or HFT. SATURNALIA is primarily a high school set; however, a version of SATURNALIA will be edited slightly to be used as an easy college set. We have not finalized our distribution, but it will not be too far from the standard 4/4 history, 4/4 lit (distributed by genre), 4/4 sci, 3/3 fine arts, 3/3 RMPSS, and 2/2 other.

We are looking for editors and for more writers. To make the selection process transparent, we will have an open application for writers and editors.

Apply to Write

If you want to write for SATURNALIA, email 1 sample tossup and 1 sample bonus to justinfrench1728 AT gmail DOT com, along with a list of categories you are interested in writing. We encourage writers of all skill levels and of all levels of experience to apply! We will accept applicants on a rolling basis until we no longer have a need for writers.

Apply to Edit

If you want to edit for SATURNALIA, email 3 sample tossups and 3 sample bonuses to justinfrench1728 AT gmail DOT com, along with the category or categories you are interested in editing. Please include at least 1 tossup and 1 bonus for each category you apply for. We are currently looking for editors in all categories. Feel free to apply for a large category (e.g. lit, history) or a small category (e.g. poetry, economics).

Thank you for everyone who has applied so far! If you have submitted an application, we will respond by February 23rd.

We are still looking for more editor applications in every category. If you have written many questions, either for sets or for practice, you should consider applying to edit.

Thank you for everyone who applied! We will no longer be reading general applications at this point. However, we are still looking for editors in the following categories:

- Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Science
- Philosophy
- Psychology
- Economics
- Other Social Science
- Popular Culture

We only require applying editors to submit 1/1 per category as listed above; you do not need to write at least 3/3 (as was previously the case).

Applicants should apply before March 1 (that is up to and including this Saturday). Later in production we may be looking for a Current Events editor.
