Charter Challenge 3/2/13

Post by Ravi »

Wilmington Charter is proud to announce that it will once again be holding its Charter Challenge on Saturday March 2, 2013. The tournament will follow the standard NAQT format which can be found here: http://www.naqt.com/downloads/rules.pdf . We will be following all but two of the rules: we will have un-timed rounds and there will be NO computation tossups or bonuses.

Tournament Structure: The tournament will consist of two divisions. A Varsity division that is open to all students from Grades 5-8 and a JV division which is open only to students in Grades 5-6. Due to the rigor of the competition we highly suggest that students in Grades 5 and 6 compete in the lower division but coaches can decide teams at their own discretion. Top finishers in the upper division will qualify for the Middle School National Championship Tournament in Chicago between April 26-28, 2013.

Packet: Both divisions will be using NAQT''s MS-06 set.

Fees:

1st team: $55
Each subsequent team: $45
Working Buzzer System: -$15
Minimum cost per team: $30

Payments can be made as a check made out to "The Charter School of Wilmington" or as cash, turned in at the day of the tournament.

Registration

Registration can be done by posting on this thread or emailing the team at [email protected]. Any questions or invoice requests can also be made through the email.

Lunch:

As in previous years we will be selling pizza, soda and snacks in the cafeteria at around noon.

Ravi can verify this for sure, but at past events registration was 8:30-9:00 and the opening meeting started shortly after.

Final Standings

Varsity
1. Independence B
2. Independence A
3. Longfellow
4. Saint Augustine A
Quarters: Independence D
Quarters: Newark Charter A
Quarters: Newark Charter B
Quarters: Newark Charter C
Playoff: Saint Augustine B
Playoff: Brandywine B
Playoff: Brandywine C

Standing through prelim matches. Can someone remind me: is there a way to have the individuals be grouped into separate reports by their brackets?

I was reading in the Varsity group and don't know who won the grade 5-6 bracket. I will be updating the statistics with all playoff rounds tomorrow morning and will hopefully have all those results then.

It was Stillman and an Independence team in the final for JV. I am not sure who won though.

Could you put me on the mailing list for next year? We are interested in possibly attending.

Thanks!
