PACE Online Tournament Hosting/Playing Guide

Post by Mike Bentley »

Heads up that PACE is working on both a written guide and a series of training sessions for hosting online quizbowl tournaments (specifically Discord, although one for Zoom may follow). The guides are intended to help TDs, moderators and players starting from scratch hosting online events and will synthesize some of the content in guides that myself and others have already written.

Look for more details soon, as well as some announcements about 2021 NSC qualification.

We hope to get the first version of this guide publicly posted next weekend. This guide will be a work in progress, evolving over the course of the quizbowl season as we learn more best practices for hosting online tournaments.

The guide is now available here: http://www.pace-nsc.org/online-tournament-guide/

Please note that this is still very much a work in progress. The Discord section is more complete than the Zoom section. We fully intend to iterate on this guide as the quizbowl community gains more experience hosting online tournaments.

We'll also be updated this guide once NAQT releases their guidelines for hosting online tournaments.

If you have any feedback, please email me at [email protected], post in this thread, or @mention me on the online tournament channel in the Quizbowl Discord.
