SOUNDTRACK at HSNCT - Saturday

Post by Silverman » Wed Apr 04, 2018 12:12 am

SOUNDTRACK, a film audio tournament, will be showing on Saturday night at HSNCT, after rounds have concluded. Signups are here.

There will be 5 packets of 20 audio tossups each, and we will be using a room promotion/relegation system, with exact details to be determined by field size. This tournament will cost $10 to play.

EDIT: We've moved the time of this tournament to Saturday night, since that way we'll be able to get rooms and buzzers. With the cancellation of Math Monstrosity the schedule is a little more open.

Please PM me or Aakash Patel if you have any questions!

Thanks, Jonah. With this in mind, do people think a Sunday night event is generally doable with only participant-okayed hotel rooms, and slap bowl if necessary? I've only been to one HSNCT (and was playing ACRONYM Sunday night last year), so I don't know what the situation is.

I've added a poll to the top of the thread to gauge interest since Sunday might be difficult logistically. For reference, the tentative list of side events is here.

Saturday won the poll, so we're officially moving to then. I'll update the main post with more details about timing and rooms when that's available.

Hey, as someone interested in playing this but is worried about potential conflicts with other events going on on Saturday evening, have you set a time for when this will take place?

We're planning to run it after the staff tournament (in the same slot as PACENSC). Obviously that'll cause conflicts for some people, but we think it's the best choice overall. Also, if you'll be at PACE NSC (heh) there'll be a mirror there, and we'll open the set up to mirrors at various summer events if there's enough interest.

We're having this start at 10pm or after the staff tournament completes, whichever is later.

We'll meet in the L400 wing to start off at that time.
