JCD II Announcement (Moved to December 1st, 2018)

Post by Jewish Pugilist »

Hi all,
This is the official announcement of the second trash tournament coming to you from Bradley Kirksey and myself (with editing help from Cody Johansen.) We expanded the tournament to add an additional three packets (ten total) and tossups will now have a hard 6 line cap on length. The main site will be at West Valencia on December 1st, 2018 (we had to move it away from 11/17/2018 due to a football game) most likely in Building 9 of that campus.

Fees:
$80 per team
-$10 for each staffer provided by a team
-$5 for bringing a buzzer
-$30 for a two or one person team

There will be ten power-marked packets with the distribution below:
4/4 TV
4/4 Film
4/4 Music
4/4 Sports [Football 1/1, Basketball 1/1, Baseball and Soccer 1/1, and 1/1 other sports]
2/2 Games
1.5/1.5 Misc or Other Trash
.5/.5 Trash Literature

Please form teams here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

Mirrors:
UofT (January 27th, 2019)
Kansas State (Late Dec or Jan)
Commerce HS (Summertime)
WashU (June 30th, 2019)
If you have any questions about mirroring or the set as whole, feel free to email me at [email protected]. The mirror fee will be $20 per team. Additionally, I am looking for a few people to play test this over Skype or Discord in the coming weeks so if you are interested email me at the above address or pm me on social media.

I'm making plans to come down for this. Are there teams that could use an extra teammate?

Aaron, I'm not sure if most teams are super solidified yet. Or, really, any of them. I do know that Griffin Thompson lost a teammate when the date changed, and I believe that Zach Foster's team only has 3.

Hey all, the Florida site is being moved to West Valencia (same date) due to the AAC's Conference Championship Game almost certainly being held at UCF on the 1st of December. Much thanks to Chris Borglum for securing rooms at West Valencia campus and see y'all at 9:00 (rounds start at 9:30 AM.)

This was a really fun tournament, with some interesting answer lines and clues. Joe Bob says check it out.

I’d like to add the praise of this tournament and hope it gets some more mirrors going! The editors really improved on last year’s set and made this one more up to standard so to say. Hopefully this becomes a yearly thing too.
