Help identifying a song

So, Trash folks, I have a small problem: there has been a synth pop song stuck in my head which I remember from the eighties, but irritatingly I know neither the name of the song, the artist, nor any of the damned lyrics. However, I managed to pick out on a piano the main theme of the melody. So, what I was wondering is if there are any of you who are a) able to play piano, and b) super, super knowledgeable about eighties music, such that, if I provided the melody, you could play and then identify the song for me? I have no other way of finding out this song, otherwise I'd not be bothering the community.
