TOEJAM III Online Doubles: January 31, 2021

Post by InvadErGII »

Do you like video games? Cool, me too. Come play some questions about them on Sunday, 1/31 (date subject to change, in the event that there's a huge conflicting event that I'm unaware of). Teams of 2, $12 per player. Games will be held via Zoom (more deets on that ASAP).

You can register a team, put yourself down as a free agent, or sign up to staff here. Hit me up with any questions or concerns.

It doesn't conflict per se, but ACF Regionals is on the Saturday before this, and The World As It Is is on the Sunday before this. I'd expect you'll get a lot of overlap between those three tournaments in a relatively small amount of time. I'd personally prefer this to be moved back a week or two. (Of course then it might be close to SCT if that tournament indeed happens in its usual February slot.)

Since there is no SCT, could this tournament indeed be pushed back some other weekend?

I would selfishly prefer that this tournament remain in its original announced timeslot, as I work weekends and have to arrange tournaments with my schedule in advance.

No plans to move this at this point, but if there's enough interest in a second mirror I'm certainly happy to make that happen.

If you want to play in this event, please sign up ASAP if you haven't already! I'd like to get to 12 (or perhaps 16) teams if at all possible.

Should we expect a logistics email of some sort ahead of time? (I'm asking as a staff sign up)

Staaaaaats

Congrats to Steve Oppenheim and Hex Reymann, who went 7-1 including 3-0 against the top bracket, to win the tournament! Jason Thompson + Billy Busse finished second, with Rob Carson + Tejas Raje in 3rd and Taylor Harvey + Kenji Shimizu in 4th. This was a lot of fun - thanks to everyone who played!
