Re: 09-10 Season Player Poll
This is a cool idea but it will be incredibly hard. I feel well informed about the national quizbowl scene and even i feel like i'm going to have a hard time doing this. For example, i do not know the names of many of the individual players from top teams not in the Mid-Atlantic area, so i'm just going to have to hope that stats will assist me with that. I'll see what happens.

Because I will be blown away if the balloting process is the least bit accurate, and I hope I never have to see the [yikes!]fest thread that would result from a bunch of high school players posting about how they should have been ranked because they beat this one dude one time, etc.

You know, it's not like Charlie can "close down" your thread. If you want to conduct a poll, good luck - I'm not going to stop you unless your thread starts sucking.

Re: 09-10 Season Player Poll
I really do think many people want to see this poll happen, so I'd like to see it through. Personally, I don't care what the admins do to this thread once the poll is complete. If some people are truly that worried about it becoming sucky, then the thread can premptively be locked right after the results are released.

I mean, people complaining isn't ipso facto wrong or against the rules or anything, though it can be annoying. Let's be big enough to bear some potential complaints.

Yeah... Someone voted for 3-4 random IL players. I got their ballot in late enough that I wasn't able to ask for any clarification. The rest of that person's ballot was more than okay though, so I still counted their ballot.Dan-Don wrote:Ahahahaha!Self-incompatibility in plants wrote: Jake O’shea, 5
