Correct: Insecticide (as in, the thing that kills insects)

Not like you needed the stuff in the parentheses, but hey, a little clarity never hurt anyone!

Since when is Cockney slang for 'Faggot' 'Faggot'? That's just dumb.

Mahoning County League yesterday...

Q: This man turned down the role of Bubba Gump. Since that decision, he has starred in Robin Hood: Men In Tights...

*buzz* Morgan Freeman

...Con Air, You've Got Mail...

*other team buzz* KEVIN COSTNER

The girl who said this was summarily humilated by her teammates.

The right answer was Dave Chapelle, if anyone is curious.

Wasn't that part Bubba Blue? I don't think I would have gotten it, but that's kinda misleading. Still, most everybody would have figured out that Bubba Gump, or Blue, was most definitely African American and would almost surely know better than to say Kevin Freaking Costner.

Damn. You're right. The question didn't say Bubba Gump, it was just Bubba. The question before it was Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.

Lol... that MacInerny thing was against us...

But earlier in the day...

Some team our reader was reading for...

The category was on tropisms...

the kid rang in and said Malapropism....

At practice the other day, the question was "Where are the Kings/Queens of England crowned..."

Jon.. our captain mind you (in one of his not-so-bright moments)-- "STONE OF SCONE..."...

When they read the question, they were talking about installments, and orcs, and elves and such, but instead of "made by Blizzard", I heard "Wizard" (Wizard the Coast that makes Magic) so I said Magic the Gathering.

Meh.

I'd guess Morocco, but I'm probably wrong.

My answer: Marco Polo
Right answer: Machiavelli

That answer is especially terrible after the question started out, "This 16th century Italian diplomat...."

No, it was more ambitious then that. It mentioned that his real name was Gregory, at which point she buzzed in confidently with Rasputin. It then details how he travels to River City, Iowa and creates an artificial demand for a boys marching band while hitting on the town librarian. By then her face was buried in her hands in shame.
