Moderator: I split this off from Bad Negs. Post your biggest long shot guesses that turned out to be right.

This order...

It happened at one of the University of Maryland tournaments last season--I think spring but it could have been fall. I can't believe I was that lucky.

So maybe it's no so improbable, but think of the degrees of freedom:

The question was about the 12 Imams, and included the words "12" "original" and "imams". My team buzzes in for the trash pickup at the end:

<buzz> The Imams?
<mod> Can you be more specific?
<player>The 12 Imams?
<mod>More specific?
<player>The 12 Original Imams?

Not as good as "This element..."
<buzz> Samarium.

That one of my players pulled out of his butt a few years ago, but still a gas.

I know this isn't high school, the same vein, from Illinois B vs. Kentucky A at Moonpie in 2002:
Moderator: ... name this thing which pretty much anything is better than.
Me: *buzz* Like... being poked in the eye?
Moderator: Prompt.
Me: With a stick?
Moderator: Prompt.
Me: A sharp stick.
Moderator: 10 points.

I'm really surprised that Seth Kendall didn't die of a stroke after that happened (and not just because he's old, either.)

Against LAMP at ASCA State:

(While thinking Albany the whole time)

Mod: ... 1814 gathering... in this city in Connecticut.

Me: (Buzz) Uhhhh... Hartford Convention

Mod: Correct.

My random thought allowed us to win the game by 5 points.

Mod: What a horrible buzz. Correct.
