PHSAT XIX (10/8/11) Results and Discussion

Post by Youse Da Force »

A hearty thanks to all the teams who came out today to compete in the 19th Princeton High School Academic Tournament! Congratulations goes out to Hunter College High School, who took both the Championship and the Runner-up trophies (A & B, respectively) this afternoon, in a long day of high-scoring Quizbowl matches.

High Tech High School took third place from Wilmington Charter, who made the drive up from Delaware. We had a tie for 5th place, between Wissahickon and Charter B, as well as a tie for 7th, betwixt Henderson and Millburn A.

For individuals, the 1st place trophy went to Anderson from Wissahickon, with 112.5PPG in the prelims, followed by Grace from High Tech with 103.1 and Richard from Hunter with 82.

I would like to remind players that this set will be used at future tournaments, so do not discuss the questions here.

Prelim stats: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... s/prelims/
Playoffs: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... /playoffs/
(By the way, the dual playoff brackets are a result of the Phillies losing, and a dispute over bracket names)
All Games Combined: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... all_games/
Note: The Consolation Rounds are incomplete, as some teams left the tournament early.
Also: The Pingry teams mixed up their schedules; thus, today's Pingry C -> Pingry A, A -> B, and B-> C. The stats now reflect this.

So, Hunter swept the field without York or Zihan in attendance? Hmmm...perhaps they have a future in this game.

The stats have been updated to reflect spelling corrections and the missing game.

Also, nationally qualifying teams:

Hunter A, Hunter B, High Tech A, Charter A, Charter B, Wissahickon A

PACE only (7th, 8th)
