I am excited to announce that the Tuscumbia Spring Academic Tournament will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2012 at Tuscumbia High School. This tournament is certified by the Missouri Quiz Bowl Alliance and will be a qualifier for the PACE NSC, a national tournament that will be held in St. Louis this year. This would be a great chance to tune up for district tournaments three weeks later.

We will using Yale's BHSAT XXI set, the details of which can be found here: viewtopic.php?f=109&t=12522. Each team will be guaranteed at least eight matches, but the exact tournament format will be determined by the number of teams in attendance. In order to allow players to gain as much experience as possible, rosters will be limited to six players per team.

Because of space and staffing concerns, we will initially cap the field at twelve teams. If we have enough staff and rooms to accommodate more teams, I will expand the field after it has initially filled.

Entry fees are as follows:

First team from each school: $55
Second and subsequent teams from each school: $50
Fully functional buzzer systems: -$5 per system (limit two discounts per team)
More than 100 miles traveled one way (as determined by Mapquest): -$10 per team
