Norcross High School is pleased to say that we will be hosting a tournament on Saturday, April 21, 2012. We will, once again, be hosting Hunter High School's Prison Bowl. Even though this date is after the regular season in Georgia, the Prison Bowl set will offer a great chance for teams to have an accesible way to end the school year or to warm-up for HSNCT in May.

As a large turn out is unlikely, being after regular season, we will play a full round robin, with a possible advantage final.

The cost is $65 per team. There will be $5 discounts for each working buzzer system, a $5 discount for each experienced volunteer, and a $5 discount per 100 miles (according to Google maps) that a school may travel. Due to the issues we faced running BDAT last December, we are also giving each school who attended an additional $10 discount.

Teams that would like to register must fill out this form. Please fill it out or you will not be allowed to participate.

If you have questions or issues please contact me at [email protected] or Mostafa at [email protected]. We hope to see you in April.

We are up to nine teams. If another team could sign up it would make playing a full round robin easier. Thanks.

Minor field change. We are still in need of another team as 9 is horrible for scheduling purposes.

The following was emailed to registered teams:

Once again, thank you for registering for our tournament, to be held
at Norcross High School which is located on 5300 Spalding Drive,
Norcross, GA 30092.

Currently, the field stands at nine teams:

Norcross House Team (Mostafa and Joey)
Chattahoochee (1 Teams, 1 buzzer)
Howard (1 Team, 1 buzzer)
Centennial (2 Teams, 1 buzzer)
East Paulding (1 team, 1 buzzer)
Brookwood (1 team, 1 buzzer)
Bainbridge (Anne Reynolds)
Alpharetta (1 team, 1 buzzer)

We will start registration at around 8:30 AM and begin play at 9AM. We
will be playing a full round robin with an advantage finals if
necessary. Teams will thus have a bye-round, however they will be able
to see the questions they miss during that round if they choose.

We will play without bounce-backs, as is common across the nation on this set.
We will be keeping track of individual score and will award book
prizes to the top scorers.

Lunch will not be provided but there are many restaurants nearby.

Teams please remember to bring your buzzers! If you have any questions
or concerns, don't hesitate to send me an e-mail or call me at
678-477-8571 if anything comes up on the night before or the morning
of the tournament. We will send out a final email (most likely similar
to this) on Friday afternoon.

We finished our nine team round robin without the need of an advantaged final or a final in general. Thanks for everyone who came out to play today.

The final standings were:
1, Chattahoochee 8-0
2, Brookwood 6-2
3, Norcross 6-2
4, Alpharetta 5-3

Stats can be found here:
http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... standings/

East Paulding left after lunch so we replaced them with two of our JV members and someone wanting to sit in on some rounds.

Thanks to the people at Hunter High School for writing a great set as usual. :)

Lily, I just had a quick question about when you plan to upload the set? My kids enjoyed the questions very much; well done. Thanks!

MOQBA is using the Prison Bowl set for Pre-Nats on May 12, so it'll probably be after that.
