BDAT II is seeking mirrors!

Post by BlueDevil95 »

Hello everyone,

Norcross High School will be once again writing the BDAT II, a pyramidal, high school varsity-level set. We will be working to make sure the difficulty of the set is lower than last year's, and that everyone can have an enjoyable experience playing it. To make sure this will happen, Tanay Kothari from UC Berkeley has graciously agreed to overlook the creation of BDAT II. The questions will be power-marked and the bonuses will be three-part, just like the standard pyramidal set.

The cost to mirror BDAT II will be $10 per team in attendance at the respective mirror site.

We'll be working hard to make sure the set turns out to be a great, polished product. As of right now, we're hoping to have the set completed by the beginning of October, so if tournament directors need a set to use, please keep that date in mind. If we somehow do not finish by then, then I will of course notify any potential mirror sites about this.

Thank you, and we hope the BDAT II can be mirrored somewhere close to your area!

Interested teams should contact me at: [email protected]

Mirrors:
RCHS Bonfire of the Manatees (Raleigh, NC, 10/27/12)
Niles West BDAT Mirror (Skokie, IL, 1/5/13)
BENJI at UC Berkeley (Berkeley, CA, 3/16/13)
FUNKADELIC at Oakland Mills (Columbia, MD, 3/30/13)
Missouri Singles Tournament - 5/11/13

For those who were concerned about the difficulty of this set last year (and there were legitimate concerns), i'm making sure to help tone it down this time around. Already Mostafa and crew have written some awesome questions on really good and accessible answer lines, but i'll do my best to keep it in check until the final edit. I can promise you a reasonable-difficulty and well-written set this Fall.

Due to certain circumstances, Andrew Chrzanowski will no longer be helping with the production of BDAT II.

All mirrors of the BDAT set have been completed. If anyone still wants to use the set for a future tournament, shoot me an email. Otherwise, I'll post the set onto the archives next Saturday, May 18th.
