You should probably put Easter on here, the weekend of March 30th.

Most public schools in Delaware at least will be back in school on January 2nd, so after that should be a regular weekend for a lot of teams.

CR will tentatively then reserve April 13th for Rider Bowl IV.

Maggie Walker would like to tentatively claim December 8th for GSAC XX.
We'll be able to confirm the date for sure by the end of next week.

Is an 8-8-8 states happening this year for Maryland? I remember some post last year from Isaac Hirsch saying that he was going to run it. Also, I know It's Ac has their schedule already made, as they told our coach the date of our first taping. When they'll put it on their website, who knows...

This year's Cavalier Classic will take place on October 27.

Douglas Freeman and New Kent will be co-running the Metro Richmond Invitational in mid-January, tentatively on January the 12th.

The key VHSL Scholastic Bowl Dates are (according to the VHSL website)

District Deadline: January 26
Regional Deadline: February 9
State (at W&M): February 23

Virginia Tech will be running a tournament in the VHSL Piedmont district, in hopes of getting SCAEL teams involved in Saturday tournaments. Exact date TBD: either right before or right after their season starts.

Blacksburg High School is planning to run an invitational on either HSAPQ or NAQT questions on January 12. I do note the potential conflict between the New Kent/Freeman date and ours, but I feel that the circuits are distinct enough that it shouldn't make a big difference to either of us.

VCU would like claim 10/13, 12/01 and 03/16 for VCU Fall, Winter and Spring respectively.

Richard Montgomery would like to claim 10/6, most likely for a novice tournament.

We can confirm that GSAC XX will be happening on December 8th.

I can confirm that November 10th is our CSI (housewrite) and February 16th will be our NCIS (vendor/mirror).

TJ would like to claim December 15 and March 2.

Charter has claimed Nov. 3rd for the Delaware Fall Tournament.

Montgomery Blair high school would like to claim November 17 for a tournament.

Centennial is having its tournament on 12/2 (its on the forums here)

FYI: I guess since xc is the sport that correlates most with quiz bowl, I should mention that Bull run (the most important invitational in the season) is on Sept. 22 and the Maryland state championships are on Nov. 10

My infallible magic eight ball has informed me that this will have a minimal effect on tournament attendance.

The National History Bee & Bowl Southwest Virginia Regional will be played on Bee & Bowl Set C at Blacksburg HS in Blacksburg, VA on Saturday October 20, 2012.

Just to clarify, we're using IS-124 for the Blue Hen Invitational.

GDS would like to tentatively claim January 19th for a tournament to be named something sports related later.

The NAQT website says that Maryland Fall is on September 29th (and they are using IS-118).

NHBB's website says that the Maryland History Bowl/Bee (played on C set last year) will be November 10th: http://hs.historybee.com/regionalsite/m ... more-area/

I sent Joe a PM asking him to do that.

Centennial High School will be having its tournament (NAQT-Novice set but open to everyone) hopefully with a Novice Division and Varsity Division on SUNDAY 12/2/12 (a day after the SATs). Thanks to Paul Kirk-Davidoff of OM for already posting this.
Blake High School is also running a quiz-bowl tournament on October 27.

GDS would also like to claim January 19th for LOCKOUT. It will be a mirror.

We've secured NAQT IS-124 for our NCIS II in February.

UVA would like to claim March 23 for what will hopefully be VA NAQT States (I realize Blue Hen is scheduled for that date but do not expect there to be a conflict between the two fields).

Unfortunately, Blair will not be able to host on November 17th due to a county wide event being held at our school that day. We are currently looking into other suitable dates that do not conflict with other tournaments and we will post an official announcement as soon as everything is finalized.

Can we take the 17th, then?

Actually Perry Hall seems to be hosting a tournament run on IS-119A (http://www.hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewto ... =1&t=13558) and that would be closer to the DC Area than if Charter changed their sets for the JV division

But I believe there's at least one other A-set this year (123A maybe?) that won't get mirrored in the DC area otherwise...

That set won't be finished until January. (So possible solutions to this conflict would involve a switch to IS #117A instead.)

Right of course...nonetheless, same concept.

NHBB Maryland has been switched to January 5 due to conflicts at the host school. February 2 is retained as a backup date in case of bad weather.

I am pleased to report that the JV division for Charter's fall tournament has been switched to IS #117A, resolving this conflict.

GDS would like to claim April 6th for our annual Ben Cooper Memorial Tournament.
