Turnabouts

Post by MLaudermith »

On Saturday, January 12th, 2013, the IHSSBCA is again sponsoring the Turnabout Tournament at 5 sites around the state: Carterville, Fenton (Bensenville), Greenville, Centennial (Champaign), and Geneseo. Invitations to non-blacklisted teams were mailed last week. Please send registration forms to the host schools by December 14th.

If you are interested in competing at the Fenton site, please contact me as soon as possible. Let me know if you have any questions about the tournament. You can email me at [email protected].

As always, a great tournament needs great staff, so if you are interested in moderating please contact me. I can offer all staffers lunch plus a modest remuneration. If you are associated with a blacklisted team and are not traveling to Rockford Auburn or Metea Valley on January 12, I would truly appreciate your help.

Thanks, and I look forward to seeing your team in January.

I have updated the list of teams above. If I hear from more interested teams this week, I will consider expanding the field, but it's unlikely.

I still need another 4 staffers, so if you can help me out on the 12th, I would really appreciate it.

Many thanks to all the teams and staffers who came out to Fenton for the Turnabout Tournament yesterday. It was truly an outstanding event with great competition. Setting a new record for a Fenton tournament, we started well before 9:00 am and finished everything, including finals, before 3:00.

Congratulations to the top 4 teams:
1. Naperville North
2. Fenton A
3. Lake Zurich
4. Maine South A

Greg Krzywicki from Fenton A was the high scorer of the preliminary rounds with 114 PPG.

Stats will be posted online soon. If anyone has suggestions/concerns about Turnabout, please let me know.

I give all credit to the staffers for making the tournament run so smoothly. Thanks again to Jon Aguilar, Tony Daccardo, David Riley, Tom Egan, Rob Grierson, Jonah Greenthal, Jeff Price, Phyllis Kidd, Andrew Wang, Joe Promisco, Jeremy Nelson, Blake Tutt, Ulysses Capistran, Mike Penicnak, Brian Mellon, Alec Krueger, and Victoria Likeum.

At Champaign Centennial,

Dwight defeated Normal Community to win the Championship out of the 26 teams that were there.

Carrollton defeated Blue Ridge (Farmer City) to win the consolation bracket.

David Reamer from Dwight was the top scorer for the morning.

Stats from Fenton: prelims playoffs combined

These have controlled and rebounded bonuses merged. I have the scoresheets, so at some point I will try to go through and separate those.
