2014 NAQT North Florida State Championship [IS-136] 4/05/14

The University of Florida Quiz Bowl team is hosting the North Florida High School NAQT State Championship.

When
Saturday, April, 5th, 2014
Check-In Begins 8:30 A.M.
Tournament Begins 9:00 A.M.

Where
Matherly Hall, Ground Floor (Rooms 002-0015)

Format
We will be using NAQT Packet IS-136
We have a cap of 26 teams. (Subject to change with Moderator Availability)
Each team can have up to 6 players, only 4 of whom will be playing during each round-half (the other two are alternates who may be substituted in at half-time)
There is no tournament divisions, all teams will compete in the same field against each other using the same packets.

Fees
$80 for First Team
$70 for each additional team

Discounts (Per School, Not Team)
-$5 for every 100 miles distance from high school 1-way to Matherly Hall
-$10 qualified moderator
-$10 for a working buzzer system

Prizes
Trophy for the top team
Trophy for the top individual
Books for the individuals who were ranked 2-10
Books for the members of the top team
Books for the members of the runner-up team

A school with a team in the top 15% of the field at this tournament, will have an invitation to the High School National Championship Tournament (May 31, 2014 in the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, IL)

Copies of the packets used will be sent to all coaches after the tournament

Miscellaneous
Food is not provided, but there is a Krispy Kreme, McDonalds, Leonardo's Pizza, Kangaroo Gas Station, Chipotle, Firehouse Subs, Starbucks, and Vending Machines walking distance from Matherly Hall.

Registration
To register send me an e-mail at [email protected], with a subject line of "HS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP" or "NAQT High School" or related terms, stating your school's name, and the number of teams you wish to register along with discounts, and contact phone number in case a problem arises the day of the event. I will send you a confirmation e-mail on reception of your registration. During the check-in, Cash or Checks made payable to "The University of Florida" are the acceptable forms of payment. DO NOT MAIL ANY CHECKS/CASH/MONEY ORDER STRAIGHT TO UF, HAND THEM IN AT CHECK-IN, or else Student Government will not know which club treasury to deposit the money in. Registration closes Midnight, March 31st. Until registration closes we can only allow each school to register a maximum of three teams. After registration closes we will allow schools who asked to bring more, in the order that they registered, to add to the field until we reach the cap . Teams will be e-mailed to finalize the number they are bringing on Tuesday, April 1st.
