Golden Eagle Bowl III - Sept 27, 2014 - Raleigh, NC

Post by msmathwhiz »

Enloe Magnet High School will hold the 3rd annual Golden Eagle Bowl on Saturday, September 27th. This is a change from the original date of Sept 20th due to a scheduling conflict.

Enloe is located just two miles east of I-440 at the Highway 64 exit. This is an NAQT qualifying tournament and we will be using packet IS-132. We are seeking PACE certification as well.

We will play 9 rounds and save a 10th round in the event we need a play-off for the championship. All rounds are 20 questions with 20 bonus sets. First round begins at 9:00 AM. Registration will be in the atrium of the Tower Building from 8:15 to 8:40 AM. The field is initially capped at 24 teams.

Registration cost is $65 for the first team, $60 for each subsequent team with a cap of 4 teams/school. There is a $10 discount for each WORKING buzzer system provided and the same discount if you provide a reader or scorekeeper. Payment is due the day of the tournament, but checks can be mailed to Celia Rowland, 128 Clarendon Crescent, Raleigh, NC 27610. Please make checks out to Enloe High School.

Congratulations to Raleigh Charter's A team for going unbeaten yesterday in the 3rd annual Golden Eagle Bowl! NCSSM A took 2nd, NCSSM B took 3rd and MIllbrook took 4th. While it was a small tournament, it was a lot of fun. The tournament received PACE Gold status, so the top 2 teams qualified for the PACE NSC next spring. Both teams should also have qualified for HSNCT 2015.

Stats are posted up: http://www.hsquizbowl.org/db/tournament ... standings/

Thanks to everyone for their patience while we dealt with the key situation to the classrooms. I'm getting a master key for the next tournament!

EnIAC 2015 will be Saturday, January 3rd, 2015. Keep that date open! After a longer winter break than usual, we'll all be ready to stretch those brains!
