The MSU Academic Competition Club is pleased to announce that we will be hosting the NAQT State Championship for Michigan on March 19, 2016. Please register by going to naqt.com (https://www.naqt.com/schedule.jsp?hs=tr ... stal_code=), or by emailing us at [email protected].
Our initial field is capped at 24 teams; it is highly likely that the field will be expanded. Each school may initially sign up two teams.
We are tentatively planning on holding this tournament in Berkey Hall on MSU's campus; full logistical details will be provided in the weeks before the tournament.
The fee structure for this tournament is as follows:
$80 - first team
$70 - second team from a school and on
-$10 - new to quiz bowl (no teams from your school have attended a pyramidal quiz bowl tournament in the last two academic years, please let us know if you qualify for this)
-$10 - WORKING buzzer system (at least four players on each side)
-$10 - Travel over 100 miles one way, as determined by Google maps
-$15 - Competent moderator (let us know if you would like to claim this discount and we will tell you if it is needed)
We prefer payment by cash or check made out to "MSU Academic Competition Club" on the day of the tournament; if your school requires you to mail payment ahead of the tournament, please contact us and we can give you our mailing address. If you will not be able to pay until after the tournament, please let us know ahead of time.
If there are any questions, please feel free to email us.
