Centennial Tournament Ellicott City, MD Sunday Nov 6,2016

Post by eseifte1 »

This is our first announcement for the CENTENNIAL TOURNAMENT in Ellicott City, Maryland to be held on Sunday, November 6, 2016 at 8:30 AM.
We have a Middle School Division which will be open to Middle and Elementary School teams. Last year, 24 teams participated in this division.

For our 12th annual tournament, we will be using NAQT IS-161A set. This question set is an INTRODUCTORY set written to accommodate younger players, but certainly not as easy as a dedicated middle school set.

Like last year, we are expecting all teams to stay for the rounds after lunch, and we will require re-registration at lunch to verify afternoon participation.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and we will provide our traditional breakfast banquet. For those teams wishing to stay on site for lunch pizza will be sold at registration.

We will have a coaches/parents' round during lunch with fossils/minerals as prizes, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Howard County Special Olympics.

The cost for teams participating in the tournament is $75 for the first team and $65 for each extra team from the same school. Teams can bring a working buzzer for a $10 discount (but only one buzzer set per team entered).

Centennial High School is located at 4300 Centennial Lane, Ellicott City, MD 21042

To register, e-mail [email protected] with the number of teams, buzzers, e-mail address, and telephone number where we can contact you on the day of the tournament in case of inclement weather. Feel free to share this announcement with other teams that might be interested in attending.

If enough elementary teams register, we may have a separate Elementary Division for grades 5 and under.
