Post by stanjast » Fri Nov 02, 2018 3:11 pm

The Purdue University Quiz Bowl club is pleased to announce Boilermaker Buzzathon III, the third iteration of our annual high school tournament, to be held on December 8th, 2018.

Register through this Google Form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1YDmCxk ... =drive_web

Alternatively, you can register by emailing purduequizbowl@gmail.com

Fees:
$75 for the first team, $50 for each subsequent team
-$5 per WORKING buzzer system

Question Set:
This tournament will be played on SCOP Novice 9. Information concerning distribution (which does not include computational math) can be found here: http://hsquizbowl.org/forums/viewtopic. ... 09&t=21195

Rounds will be untimed with 20 tossups and 20 three part bonuses (no bouncebacks on bonuses). There will be powers and negs (worth 15 and -5 points, respectively).

Logistics:
The tournament will held in Hampton Hall like last year. Check in will begin at 8:00. Players and staffers meeting will take place at 8:30. We are aiming to start games by 8:45, no later than 9am (our aim is to be done no later than 5pm). Rooms and other logistics will be sent in a future email.

We are setting a tentative field cap at 18 teams, with the possibility of more if there is interest.

Hope to see you all there!

With just less than a week to register (please get those registrations in by *this Sunday,* December 2nd), here's how the field looks so far:

Rochester (1 team)
Culver (2 teams)
Harrison (2-4 teams)
Zionsville (2 teams)
St. Joseph (2 teams)

There's still room for more teams, and a few days to sign up. Please do so by filling out this form:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1YDmCxk ... =drive_web

See everyone in a couple weeks!
