Spotted on naqt.com:
Jeopardy! will be conducting a contestant search for Teen Jeopardy! and College Jeopardy! at this tournament. Those searches are open to all competing team members (including alternates) regardless of performance and will be scheduled so as not to interfere with playing in the tournament itself. NAQT looks forward to providing this opportunity for the nation's top quiz bowlers to qualify for America's Favorite Quiz Show!

The exact schedule of the tryouts has yet to be determined, but interested players should plan on arriving at the tournament site by early Friday evening.
This could quite possibly end up getting people at each other's throats far more than the tournament itself...hopefully Michael Braun didn't make the whole MD/DC/VA region ineligible.

Whatever happened to Michael Braun? He posted on here until the Teen tournament but seemed to disappear afterward.

Suffice it to say he is no longer an active quiz bowler.

It's complicated: he and his coach had a philosophical difference of opinion over the direction the team should be taking question-wise. Michael wanted pyramidal and his coach wanted to go towards shorter, "It's Academic" type questions. This difference caused an argument that was irreconcilable.

I can't blame him.
Sticking to the topic, however, I think that quiz bowlers have a certain togetherness that wouldn't be present at a general tryout. That being said, the competition would be much higher.
