The College Bowl Club at UCI is proud to announce CBCT VIII, an official NAQT High School tournament. CBCT VIII is to be held on Saturday, November 18, 2006.

Please, don't do this; especially if you didn't attend and aren't from the region the tournament was held in. It annoys my sense of quiz bowl aesthetics, and likely those of others as well. I tell teams at tournaments I direct (which almost never have enough staff for a separate statsperson) that stats will be up as soon as possible, which is often a week or more. I'm guessing they're at least somewhere close to that situation, so aside from a few top teams and maybe individuals, they don't have stats done. Sometimes we like to have full stats available before we post results.

I will concede to you that I probably was too impatient.

However, I don't understand why my region should restrict my interest. I like to know what is going on in other regions of the country. Who the big names are. How they might be looking come nationals. Etc. etc. I don't see any problem with that.

Understood... but even a brief post about who won the tournament would be a nice recognition to the students who competed... even if it's an unofficial results announcement.
