UPDATE: UF Fall HS Tournament 12/7-12/8 2007

Post by ufgirl08 »

The University of Florida would like to announce the annual Fall High School Tournament, held on 12/7-12/8/2007.

Registration will begin at 4:30 PM on Friday, with a coaches/captains meeting at 5:30, and rounds beginning at 6:00 PM. Location is currently TBD, as the Reitz Union is being used for Preview that weekend.

The questions will be written in-house, in co-operation with Valencia's Delta Burke tournament.

The tournament is divided into two divisions:
Div II is open only to freshmen and sophomores, and Div I is open to all players. The top three teams and top five individuals in each division will receive trophies.

Base fee is $110
Discounts available include:
- $10 for second and each subsequent team
- $10 for fully functioning buzzer system (no duds this year, folks)
- $10 for competent coach/sponser/parent who would like to serve as a reader (no hser's, please)
- $10 for travel over 200 miles by mapquest.com
- $10 for new/newly reformed teams who have not participated in the past 3 years

Questions will be available for purchase upon the completion of the tournament.

For more information or to register, please contact me at [email protected], or at 352-514-8780 between the hours of 2-6 M, T, Tu, F.

Thank you,
Sarah Whitfield

Our budget was slashed entirely this year, and the $10 increase helps us continue to provide the same number of trophies as well as the Saturday morning "Breakfast on the Lawn."
If teams would like us to cut back on either of these two traditions, we would be more than happy to if that is the majority opinion.

However, we hope teams will understand the necessity of the small increase, and can make up for it with the wide variety of discounts we have available.

$110?!?!

Well... that may make bringing 4 teams pretty unfeasible.

Sarah;

Is that email link still current? I've tried a couple of times to contact you to register a team for the JV Division of your tournament, but I haven't heard back yet.

yeah also, sign rickards up for 4 teams, if it hasn't already been noted. i mean we might drop down to 3, but there isn't a high probability of that.

Never mind about registering us, if you still read this message board.

My administration doesn't want us to spend the money for this trip since the lines of communication are so shaky.

We'll try again in the spring, I hope.

Never fear, Hardee will be there with three varsity teams. We will be bringing the check with us, but it's already been cut! We would like to know what other teams are registered, though, and where to report....

Have not received response to emails.

Is this tourney still on?

Reitz Union is out, so where is registration?

Since it's not like UF will ever update this, I figured I'd let the world know Rickards won.

They're pretty good...at our FSU tournament, they were without their best player and still managed a 5-2 prelim record.

Congrats

Don't know if this was posted elsewhere, but here's a link to some standings and stats and such things: http://www.geocities.com/tvitello/HS_standings.html .
