I was just looking at this packet... what a quality neg.

What was buzzed on: "but are now threatened due to their slow reproductive rate and habitat loss."

What came just before that: "some species have coralloid roots that contain symbiotic bacteria which help in nitrogen fixation. Thought to have evolved from the Medullosales due to their manoxylic wood and radiospermic seeds, they were ubiquitous from the late Permian through the Jurassic periods,"

I remember in high school there was one match where my teammate went on a negging frenzy. I only remember two (this was from our local league play, so the questions suck):

-The question was something which the Russian Empire notably lacked (I forget what the answer was).
GIVEN ANSWER: "Mountains."

-Then it was a question to which the answer was "state constitutions." It gave Alabama as an example as "it has the longest."
GIVEN ANSWER: "Shoreline."

Man, our league questions sucked. I'm not sure if they were QU or not, but I remember two other examples being "What was the name of the song the band played as the Titanic sank?" and "Who won the 1960 World Series?"

Also, Halo is not the official title of even the first Halo, as it is actually Halo: Combat Evolved. This begs the question: should Halo 1 be an acceptable answer for Halo: CE?

No, no; the title of the game is Halo 2. NAQT's (or anyone else's) misunderstanding of the exact title rule is irrelevant; a prompt on Halo for Halo 2 is just as wrong as a prompt on Waverley for Ivanhoe (title of series does not deserve a prompt when a specific work in the series with a different title is clearly required) or a prompt on Walden for Walden 2 (title of sequel does not deserve a prompt on the title of prequel.) Please don't lose sight of the rules because OMG VIDEOGAMES!
Also, subtitles (what comes after a colon in a title) are never required, and you know this, man.

No. A thousand times no. Even if your tortured definition of the word "reintroduce" held, this still isn't right (it could be reintroduced from elsewhere, for example.)

For the assault rifle, a specific weapon in a specific series in this case, to have been "brought back," it would had to have been taken away at some point. Since the series in question has only 3 games now and at the time the question was written, there would have been no plausible way for that tossup to hold up if the assault rifle had been in Halo 2. I realize now that "reintroduce" was probably the wrong word choice, but "brought back" has only one interpretation.

"Brought back" can mean "from the original."

As in things from an original are "brought back" for a sequel. They "brought Michael Caine back" to play Alfred in The Dark Knight. Get it?
