The Quizbowl Resource Center

Wright State University will be hosting our 5th annual Rowdy Raider Invitational on Saturday, December 4th. This event will be using a standard NAQT IS Set (I will post the set when I learn what it is). This event drew the best field of any Ohio event this year, and from what I am hearing, should be just as strong in 2010. Would love to have some Indiana, West Virginia and Michigan teams join our always strong contingent of Ohio and Kentucky powers.

We will take either two or three teams to this again this year.

Emails went out today with information about the event to teams who have attended in the past, or teams whose emails I had and thought might want to attend. If your school did not get an email from me, but would like to attend, please PM me with an email address and I will get info out to you ASAP.

We are almost halfway to our cap already (more than halfway if the "interested" teams register). Would love to see some Michigan, Indiana and West Virginia (and beyond!) teams complement our strong field from Ohio and Kentucky.

Go ahead and assume that we will be bringing three teams; I will tell you if this changes.
We can probably bring two buzzers.

This was a very well run and competitive tournament last year, so more good teams should go!

Anyone interested in attending who has not already confirmed with me might want to do so soon. I never imagined that a December tournament might sell out in August, but with several Ohio schools starting back this week, I expect that we might be to our 36 team cap within a week.

I ask that teams please send in their registration forms ASAP- if you have indicated that you would like to attend, but no longer can, please let me know so that I can move a team up from the waiting list. We look forward to attending this highly competitive tournament. It was great last year.

We have at least one spot open in the field now after a couple teams dropped and I move some waiting list teams around. I am holding back Northmont B as a standby team in case someone doesn't show the day of the event, so I would prefer to not plug them into the last spot right now. If any other teams are interested in attending, please let me know!

Bringing it with you the day of is fine- I am more concerned about some of the local teams who I have had no show in the past without having sent payment. I'm not concerned at all about teams who travel regularly! Looking forward to having you!

Northmont beat Olmsted Falls A 375-275 in the final. The other teams that had won prelim brackets were Parkersburg and Walnut Hills A. The other teams to make the top playoff brackets were Chattahoochee, Adair County, Copley, and Danville A. More official people will post more official results eventually.
