Thanks, Jeff!

Though I'm far from being any kind of stats person, a cursory check of the pp20tuh and the powers scored by teams in Florida and Alabama makes me think that 18 wild card teams could come out of those two fields. And if the numbers from Kansas are more like two years ago, and if Mississippi's are like last year, maybe all 20 wild cards might.

Looks like the fight for top six at CCCT will be tough.

I'm glad to see that four teams at the MS sectional were able to fulfill my hoped-for 10 ppb average (one hitting it on the nose). Sadly, none could average even one power per round, though. And two teams in KS were also able to crest 10 ppb, but not 11. Though I know much more goes into NAQT's d-value calculations than just ppb, pp20tuh, and powers, I'll amend my above prediction to guess that three total wildcards will come from the MS and KS sectionals combined, leaving 17 wildcards to come from AL and FL. I'll further predict that Chipola and Valencia will comprise 25% of the CCCT field.

Some quick predictions on the morning of the day the CCCT begins up in Panama City:

Dallin's going to be harder to beat on the slightly harder questions of the SCT, and the elimination of two math questions from the IS sets we used for CC SCT will hurt the efficacy of NW Florida. I'm going to guess that the top six, the teams going to ICT, will be these:

1. Chipola Blue (Dallin)
2. Snead
3. Valencia Red
4. Chipola Gold (or whatever color/team Paul Kelson is on)
5. NW Florida
6. Bevill State (though I could see Pasco A or even Seminole sneaking in here)

I may be overly hopeful about my Red team's finish above. They're very inconsistent this year; I'm pretty sure they'll lose to someone outside this top six, but they should also be capable of beating the other teams in that group. If Jihye and Paul stay awake and alert, I like our chances.

Looking forward to seeing everyone up there!

So after the first night, we're sitting at 5-0? Any other news?

I'm sure Dallin, NW FL, Valencia, etc. are similar?

It looks like Chipola will finish 2nd at CCCT for the 3rd time in 4 years...

But, this year, they also claimed the title! It's been a long time coming. Way to go, and congratulations to all who participated in CCCT. Best of luck at ICT!
