RPI will be bringing a bunch of teams to this, but it will be some time until we have any exact numbers.

It seems like MIT will bring teams for DI (probably exactly 1) and DII (at least 1).

We're most likely going to have two DI teams and one DII team. I'll confirm closer to the date.

Dartmouth is also hoping to pull together a second (likely still Div II) team. Hopefully Thursday's practice will settle this.

Due to the fact that many people tentatively said yes then say they can't come, we may only have one team now for DII and one for DI. Sorry about this.

We're going to be running Eyes That Do Not See III at lunch, maybe to be continued after the tournament is over.

In DI, Yale A, Brown, and MIT A are playing off for first.
In DII, Harvard cleared the field. Yale C, Dartmouth, MIT B tied for 2nd, and are now playing off on half packets.

Re: NAQT-ACUI Region 1 SCT at Harvard
I assume Yale A won the DI tournament, but I'm not sure what the final order of finish was. In DII Dartmouth left to get food or something so the tie wasn't fully resolved, though I think MIT and Yale did play their part of the tiebreaker.
We ran Eyes III, which John Lawrence won. Here are the stats, in order of finish:
John Lawrence: 4/18/3 = 225
Stephen Liu: 13/7/15 = 190
Matt Jackson: 2/10/4 = 110
Guinevere from McGill: 6/5/7 = 105
Dan Klein: 5/0/3 = 60
Max from Brown: 5/3/10 = 55
Nick from Dartmouth: 3/2/3 = 50
Dallas Simons: 2/3/2 = 50
Kevin Koai: 1/2/2 = 25
Hunter from McGill: 1/2/5 = 10
Justin Byrd: 1/0/1 = 10
Andre from MIT: 0/0/0 = 0
Stephen E from MIT: 0/0/2 = -10
Sam from McGill: 0/0/3 = -15

Nick is from Dartmouth. 3 members of the team went to get food well after the tenth round when it seemed clear that the tie would not be broken, yet we planned to stay for the end of Eyes.gyre and gimble wrote:.... Yale C and MIT B did play a tie-breaker packet, which Yale C won.

Is there going to be an issue because Dartmouth didn't play a tiebreaker?

We were told that the tie-breaker between Yale C and MIT B was nothing more than a scrimmage. The official stats will indicate that Yale C, MIT B, and Dartmouth all finished 6-4.Therizinosaurus wrote:Is there going to be an issue because Dartmouth didn't play a tiebreaker?

Re: NAQT-ACUI Region 1 SCT at Harvard
This is correct. If all three teams involved had played, the games would have gone on the official record. But since only two played, it is treated as a scrimmage.t-bar wrote:We were told that the tie-breaker between Yale C and MIT B was nothing more than a scrimmage. The stats claim that we heard 435 tossups in one game against UConn A, which I'm pretty sure is inaccurate.dsimons wrote:Stats have been updated on the quizbowl database
