Hey Borglum,

Sorry for not posting sooner, but I've been sizing up that 2nd place trophy to see if it will fit in our trophy case. Either way, we are taking it, you guys can have third. I saw Rhonda Glover yesterday on our campus - I can't believe you would send a "show of force" up to Louisville before the CCCT. Consider this your first warning shot.

Rhonda is retired from Valencia, though I have fond memories of her excellence in institutional research. Anyway, aim for the stars: there's no reason to think that our friends at Chipola can't be beaten. Valencia is aiming for first, as we do every year. If we fall short, well, we'll blame something external and then try again next year.

I like your optimism - please keep a baggie of it for us down there. Looking forward to a good tournamnent. And yes, Rhonda seems wonderful when it comes to IE, but when I hear anything about IE or learning outcomes or Achieving the Fantasy a defensive mechanism goes up inside me and I shut down. It is common among math folk. In all seriousness though, it was tough yesterday listening to how Valencia was number 1 in this, number one in that....blah, blah, blah....someone needs to go down South and set the record straight - and I guess the SW Academic Team of JCTC are just the people to do it. How you like that grammar?

Well, sure. Just know when y'all drive down here to bring along your UK or JCTC diploma, as putting either on your dashboard will allow you to park in handicapped spaces in Florida.

Just because you guys are now offering Bachelors degrees in Refrigerator Technology does not necessarily imply awesomeness of your community college system. Once we get into Florida, if we can ever get around the older fella' in the left lane driving 20 with his blinker on, and eventually make it to the tournament in your beautiful state, we'll make sure to hit the handicapped spaces.....

Refrigerators are people, my friend.

Congratulations to Chipola A, who defeated Valencia A in the finals to win the 2012 NAQT Community College Championship Tournament. Valencia B took third. Lincoln Land (IL), Jefferson (KY), and Faulkner State (AL) also earned invitations to the 2012 ICT.

Just wanted to complement the folks running this tournament - it was very well run again. This was our 2nd time down here, and I, for one, would cast a vote to keep it at Gulf Coast if at all possible. The hotel is phenominal, and Gulf Coast College has excellent facilities to host.

Congrats to Chipola for winning. Also nice to meet a bunch of coaches down there this year as well - with the exception of Borglum it was a pleasure to hang out with all of you. I know Chipola is going to make some noise in Chicago, and I hope the other 5 teams can do some damage too.
