Announcement: Valencia Mirror of Missouri Open

Post by ValenciaQBowl »

Valencia College in sweltering (in July) Orlando, Florida, will host a mirror of the Missouri Open on Saturday, July 13. We'll probably want to start matches at 10:15 or so, and we'll hope to be done by 6 pm. Though we tend to draw mostly CC teams, I hope this open tournament will draw Southern teams from further away (South Carolina, Georgia Tech, Alabama--I'm talking to y'all!). Of course, this is a truly open tournament, so, as with the light in "Poltergeist," all are welcome.

Note that this tournament aims for a difficulty level closer to ACF Fall, as noted in the original tournament post: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=14224

Fee Structure:
Base fee: $60
Working buzzer system: -$10
Travel discount: -$20 for traveling over 300 miles
Minimum fee: $30

I find it likely that UCF will field a team.

Billy Beyer shocked the world, or at least 4-5 interested observers in Orlando yesterday, by clearing the field and winning the Valencia mirror of MO with a 10-0 record. I was second at 8-2, followed by a Chipola team led by Paul Kelson at 8-2, and then by Dallin Kelson and Chipola coach Stan Young and a Chipola player at 7-3. A fine time was had by all. Thanks to Itamar and any others who helped put the set together. Stats will be posted soonish.
