Penn Bowl at Stanford (10/26/13)

Post by nadph »

Stanford will be running Penn Bowl 2013 on October 26th. Location and timing TBA.

Fee structure:
Base fee: $120 per team
Working buzzer discount: $10 each
Approved moderator discount: $15 each
Travel discount: $15 (more than 200 miles one way according to Google maps)
New team discount: $20 (applies if your team did not play a regular-difficulty college tournament in the last academic year)

If you have any questions, please contact Benji Nguyen (bnguyen3 at stanford DOT edu) or Eric Mukherjee (infinitestryker0 at gmail DOT com)

Payment information (copied from tournament announcement):
To be announced. Ignore the bit about making checks out to Saajid, though I'm sure he would enjoy it if that happened.

EDIT: Benji's contact info was incorrect; it has been updated.

Then we should only make it out to "Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania"?

My apologies. I made this in five minutes while at work and did not think straight. Payment information forthcoming, ignore what was there before.

Also, note that we have a new $20 discount added if nobody on your team played a regular-difficulty tournament last year.

Any chance we can play this as an open team, from a remote location, via Skype? Thanks.

I'm thinking of registering for this tournament solo. Before I do, I have several questions, whose answers will probably benefit all:

1. What is the size of the field? Is the field still open?
2. How do I pay?
3. What is the location and schedule of the tournament?

Thanks.

Hey Hidehiro,

Field:
Stanford (2)
Berkeley (3)

The field is still open. Make out a check to Stanford Quiz Bowl Club. We can work out a discount for you since you're playing solo. The tournament will take place on the second floor of the Old Union Building in Stanford's White Plaza at 10 AM. We're going to do a 6-team round robin.
