Litvak's law

Post by AuguryMarch »

Recently historical musings brought me back to the board and once again I noticed a phenomenon that I hope will become known as Litvak's law:

As any tournament discussion grows longer, the probability of it devolving into an extended argument about a single science question approaches 1.

that is fantastic. Perhaps it should just be "a single question". I haven't seen the ICT thread but someone told me it devolved into a long argument on [a science related thing].

[Edited because ICT technically isn't clear--sorry, Paul!]

I don't think that set is clear yet.

I think that your description of the crescendo in measure 3 of litvak's law is really unhelpfully worded, to the point of unbuzzability. In the future, when writing posts on Quizbowl laws, please try to reward musical understanding.

Put more than any two notable quizbowlers in a room, and the likelihood they will argue about anything approaches one.
