There's an extremely sad photo on Twitter suggesting that this tournament had a dispiriting result.

Re: British Student Quiz Championships 2018 (London, May 5th
Cambridge A (Samuel Cook, Jason Golfinos, Elysia Warner, Yanbo Yin) won the 2018 British Student Quiz Championships. In the combined scores for the top bracket, Oxford A finished 7-0 and Cambridge A finished 6-1. Cambridge then overturned Oxford's advantage in two final games, winning 390-245 and then 515-225. Congratulations to Cambridge, and well done to all the teams and players!
Oxford B were undergraduate champions, as the only all-undergraduate team to make the top bracket. Top scorers from prelims (> 60 PPG) were Evan Lynch (Southampton), Daoud Jackson (Oxford A), Joe Crowther (Warwick A) and Oliver Clarke (St Andrews).
I think it is an excellent sign of progress and health in the British quizbowl circuit that, in the 8th modern instalment of this competition, it was won yesterday for the first time by a team other than Oxford. This year we had 20 teams and players representing 13 different institutions, which are both records, and the standard of play is continuing to rise at the top.
