Hello! I am excited to announce a new side event written by myself, Jack Mehr, JJ Tsai, Chandler West, Erik Christensen, Rudra Ranganathan, and Harris Bunker. Our aim is for this to be played at side events and (possibly) high school nationals. The set will consist of at least 8 packets of 20 questions at Regs+ difficulty (though there will be a little variability). This will be an academic side event with a gimmick: every answerline will be a place or places.
Words and Objects wrote: With such a format, we hope to strike a balance between a fun, semi-vanity experience that will both engage newer and more experienced players, while still emphasizing academic content, exploring new material, and delving deeper into core content.
Distribution

  • 1 Short Fiction
    2 Long Fiction
    1 Poetry
    1 Drama
1 Other (or more of the same)

The distribution is still in the process of being settled. This is the general structure. If things change I will update the post.

The cost will be $10 per player. Hosts seeking to host a mirror should contact me at [email protected] or PM me on the forums. You can do either of those things as well if you have any questions.

EDIT: Distribution clarification

When is this likely to be mirrored? (specifically re: HS nationals)

Unfortunately we were all rather sidetracked by this or that and this tournament will not be ready by this summer. Our new goal is summer 2020, though it may be as early as Nats season 2020. Sorry for the delay!
